She smiled at me, but hate was in her heart.
From her actions, no one knew she wanted to tear me apart.
At her, I smiled right back,
But as I was leaving, she stabbed me in the back
Watchful and sober, we must be.
To realize things we don’t easily see.
Behind smiles, good words and seeming good can exist another motive.
For, as we walk life’s journey, we encounter things that can be explosive.
When we operate with motives from our sinful flesh,
We will never function highly to give God our best.
For, it is the motive of a thing
That determines the morality of a thing.
Make sure your motives for your actions are pure.
For in fleshly motives, we practice sin for sure.
